We are officially opening a new article series titled “My Last 10 Dollars”. Conceived by my good friend Nick, the idea is that if we walked into a comic shop with only $10 to our name, what would we buy? After the read we let you know if it was worth it or not!

If I walked into B & D with only $10 I’d prob pick up the next issue of Blackest Night (Johns), Criminal (Brubaker), Invincible (Kirkman), and if I’m aloud to use some B & D 10% off bucks I can prob. sneak in a hilarious Deadpool Team Up issue.

Funny thing is, I was actually going to pick up the Deadpool Team Up, but the comic shop folk talked me out of it. I also had ish 5 of Ultimate Spidey & Siege numero uno. Kind of glad they did, though. It’s not often you run across something in comics so different than the norm. Blackest Night/Spider-Dude/Etc. I can always buy. They are new and familiar at the same time. But the Unwritten, that’s something unexpected and awesome.
Next week will probably be some single issues though. So look forward to it.

Bah!! F them…those are hilarious in their own unique ‘pool way. I mean some of his team ups like Ghost Rider…didn’t care for them, but good ol Wade was putting down some demonic folks…asking “what would Bruce Campbell do?” I mean come on. That line alone was worth the $2.99 for me. Yeah man, Blackest Night is kinda a given, and Spidey. How is Siege 1? I’m not sure if I’m going to jump on board with it. The last two events let me down. I say give Mr. Wilson a try though or I’ll just let you read mine, so you can’t yell at me if you are let down.

My last ten is tough. I work at B&D so I get an employee discount. I am going to play fair though. No discount what would I buy. Secret Six, GL corps, Green Lantern, and X-Factor. 4 2.99 books that with tax puts me at around 10. I would like to point it out that if it were my last ten dollars I probably could not afford to collect montly titles. If that was the case I would find one of the many 10 dollar trades that are introducing series now. Such as Invincible,Proof,Northlanders,or perhaps Walking dead. Viva la Comics!

Oops im too used to discount. I suppose I would put Green lantern down if it came to it. I love the characters in Corps for my GL fix. Math no good. Neil SMASH!

@Bilbo
Yeah, see that Deadpool ish with Ghost Rider was the one that was up against The Unwritten trade. The trade won out. Don’t get me wrong, Deadpool is definitely funny stuff. I was chatting with the comic folk, and we both agreed that the issue of Amazing with Deadpool in it, was probably one of the best issues of Amazing to come out in a while.
Wait, Bruce Campbell references? I’ll have to let a certain friend know about that.
@Neil
You are the second person to mention X-Factor. I honestly was into when Ryan Sook was the artist on it, then dropped off as they did the future storyline. From what I hear though, one of the best books Marvel puts out. Maybe I’ll have to check it out! Look forward to more My Last Ten Dollars!

2 of my books would have been Mous Guard and Stuff of Legend but those books only come in once in a blue moon. I cant get enough of either title. Kick Ass deserves a mention as well. All late titles but always well worth it. Unwritten is insane. The End!

I popped in the shop with my last 10 bucks and I picked up Weird Tales of the Wild West (Blackest Night) from DC. A very cool modern day DC Zombie revenge story! It was a really good self contained story, I was surprised! Then I got Deadpool Team up with the Ghost Riders…First time I picked up that book and probably the last, which sucks cuz I love Deadpool!!! And Finally the newest Unwritten!!! This book has an issue or two where things get a little of course and almost lost my attention but this issue (#9) sucked me right back in!

Okay so this week huge week. Really the only comic I’m looking forward to is Green Lantern #50. Why you may ask (aside from the obvious sweetness of the title)? Well, have you seen the cover art for it? Parallax is back? Could be just a ploy, but come on Hal vs. Black Lantern Spectre! Plus it’s issue 50 and I think its oversized. Also it was the main man, Geoff Johns, b-day on Monday. I think everything is in alignment for an amazing issue!
Also, Last Days of American Crime #1 was pretty good, so issue 2 should be coming out this week or early Feb. It’s a bi-monthly 3 issue series. Looks like it’s shaping up to be a pretty good little series. The art in it is very captivating and the modern noir theme is also a hit in my book.
